WELCOME TO THE RESEARCH GROUP OF EUNJUNG KIM
The Kim Group (FuNNano Lab) at INU provides diverse, reachable, and equitable environments where we leverage cross-disciplinary tools from material science, bioengineering, nanomedicine, chemical biology, analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology to utilize the powers of DNA and RNA nanotechnology.
DNA-based materials are attracting so much attention because they allow the design and assembly of well-defined structures by DNA hybridization. Of great importance is the functionalization of those DNA materials with non-nucleic acid components such as proteins and nanoparticles, thereby broadening the bioavailability of materials with limited properties entirely composed of nucleic acids.
Our group aims to develop revolutionary new hybrid bio/nanomaterials using nucleic acids (DNA & RNA) for a wide range of biomedical applications, pursuing advanced drug therapies, bioanalytics, and high-throughput molecular diagnostics of biomarkers of diseases.
